Captain Crunch (Cap N Crunch) is drawn into the iconic Captain America #1 Comic Book Cover. Here Captain Crunch is the Hero punching out Hitler after breaking into a Nazi Bunker. The title and all the references to Captain America have been changed to reference Captain Crunch from the title to the reference to the sidekick being Alfie a character from early Captain Crunch Commercials. The original cover was by the legendary comic book creators Joe Simon and Jack Kirby and has been loving recreated here in a more cartoon animation style of the cereal commercials.
Saturday Morning Cartoons with a large bowl of cereal is the center of the 80s nostalgia this painting it drawing from. The commercial mascots of that time were just as "real" as the heroes and cartoon icons of the time. This Art Print captures the glory of these days and the feeling of waking up and sneaking downstairs to watch all your favorite shows.... the only thing missing are the Crunch Berries.
Kyle La Fever is a classically trained painter, that has spent most of my life as a designer and illustrator. This included a number of unknown comic book projects, but he recently fell back in love with painting through doing digital paintings in a life drawing class. This series it taking the roots of my cartoon and comic book love and a more realistic style to create cartoon universes with a more mature context to the villains.
